About eON Arts

“Let’s make our right brain hemisphere great again.” – eON Arts

While our business carries a number of art and craft products from founders Jim and Abby Wilson, we are primarily organized around our flagship invention the Flow Machine.  The Flow Machine‘s importance and role in addressing our increasingly unstable world cannot be overstated.

The Flow Machine can be best described as functional art: a kinetic light sculpture that has been scientifically verified  to stimulate and strengthen our right brain hemisphere.

In most western societies the left brain hemisphere has become dominant over the right brain hemisphere leading to the many social, economic, and political ills we find ourselves faced with today.

It is Eon Art’s goal and mission to help society regain a healthy balance through education and the use of right-brain stimulating tools such as the Flow Machine.

To better understand the science behind our mission, we recommend that you explore the works of psychiatrist/author Dr. Iain McGilChristwho has made it his life’s goal to research, address and educate the public about the dangerous right/left brain hemisphere imbalance and its debilitating negative impact on today’s society.

About the Flow Machine

Most neuroscientists agree that the right brain hemisphere is our spiritual and creative center.

Research

The Flow Machine has some very serious scientific credentials. A  biofeedback study found that exposure to the Flow Machine stimulates the right brain hemisphere.  This “stimulation” strengthens the right hemisphere in the same way lifting weights will strengthen your forearms. A revitalized right hemisphere invigorates our ability to intuit, create, love, connect with spirit, connect with nature, and in general connect and empathize with all of God’s wonderful creatures.

Additionally, since the Flow Machine “ties up” the right hemisphere, the left hemisphere is left with the time to to do it’s “destressing” duties.  This reduces our susceptibility to the (too) many stress related diseases so prevalent in our fast-paced world.1

If you have the time to focus solely on the Flow Machine for 5 to 10 minutes a day then so much the better. However just being in the same room (i.e. within “eyeshot”) is sufficient enough for the Flow Machine to have it’s intended effect.

The Flow Machine preps us for entering the coveted “flow state”.

Although not yet scientifically verified (EEG study needed), clinical data strongly suggests that the Flow Machine puts you in the alpha wave state.  Alpha brain waves are, in turn,  associated with the “flow state”.

According to positive psychologists  Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi and Jeanne Nakamura, a flow state is where you become immersed in what you are doing. It is where action and awareness merge into one.

Flow is when you are completely involved in an activity for its own sake. The ego falls away. Time flies. Every action, movement, and thought follows inevitably from the previous one, like playing jazz. Your whole being is involved, and you’re using your skills to the utmost.” ~Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi.

“Flow” can be thought of as a psychological common denominator among all people that transcends diverse backgrounds and experiences. Whether an artist engrossed in creating a masterpiece, an athlete pushing their physical limits, or an executive navigating complex decisions, the concept of flow connects them all.

Flow state practitioners,  creative arts teachers, and sports psychologists alike now have a new tool to assist their students/clients in achieving their flow state objectives.

1  Although the scientific results were extremely compelling in the “flow machine” study, sound scientific practice requires  additional studies be conducted to further verify and duplicate the results of this study and to test other related implications in cognitive neuropsychology.   Any interested neuroscience researchers please contact us for potential collaboration.
